A topping-out ceremony was held at the construction site of the new indoor swimming pool in the Chwarzno-Wiczlino district of Gdynia. This symbolic end of the construction phase marks the achievement of one of the key milestones in the project carried out by the consortium of Polimex Infrastruktura (lead contractor) and Polimex Mostostal.

The new swimming pool is being built for the residents of Gdynia, pupils at the nearby school and the local sports clubs. The facility will include a 25 × 21 m sports pool with eight lanes, a pool for swimming classes, spectator stands, as well as changing rooms, toilets, administrative and technical facilities. The building will be fully accessible to people with disabilities.

The project is carried out under a ‘design and build’ contract, under which the consortium is responsible for the entire process – from drawing up the design documentation to carrying out the construction works. The structural work on the building has now been completed, and work on the façade, services and finishing works are currently underway. Work is proceeding according to schedule and is entering the next stages of implementation.

- The topping-out ceremony is an important moment for the whole team working on this project. It confirms that the work has proceeded efficiently and that there has been good cooperation among all those involved in the construction process. The next stages of the project are ahead of us, which will bring us closer to handing over a modern and functional sports facility to the residents of Gdynia,” said Bartosz Wilk, Deputy President of the Management Board of Polimex Infrastruktura sp. z o.o.

The value of the investment exceeds 35.4 million zlotys, of which 30 million zlotys is the subsidy from the ‘Polski Ład’ Strategic Investment Programme run by the government.

The topping-out ceremony was attended by Aleksandra Kosiorek, Mayor of Gdynia; Marek Bzdęga, Managing Director for Culture and Community Engagement; councillors from Gdynia City Council and the Chwarzno-Wiczlino District Council, representatives of the Gdynia Sports Centre, as well as representatives of the project contractor – Bartosz Wilk, Deputy President of the Management Board of Polimex Infrastruktura sp. z o.o., and Hubert Pion, Contract Director.

The construction of the new swimming pool in Gdynia is yet another example of the commitment of Polimex Mostostal Group to the development of modern public infrastructure. Drawing on its experience in the comprehensive delivery of building and infrastructure projects, the consortium provides solutions tailored to the needs of local authorities and communities, ensuring high-quality execution and the timely completion of projects.
