Polimex Mostostal Capital Group to execute national road to nuclear power plant project

On 17 April 2025, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Infrastructure, the representatives of a consortium of Polish companies: Polimex Infrastruktura sp. z o.o. (leader), Polimex Mostostal S.A., Mosty Łódź S.A. (partner), and the contracting authority – the Gdańsk branch of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways – officially signed a contract for the design and execution of the task entitled:
"Construction of a national road on the section Lubiatowo – S6 expressway. Task 1: Lubiatowo – provincial road No. 213".

This is another strategic project implemented by the Polimex Mostostal Capital Group, which is important for the country's energy security.

The newly constructed road will connect the planned nuclear power plant with the S6 expressway. The new alignment will be a single carriageway national road with a 1x2 cross-section and GP technical class, along with associated infrastructure, including, among other things, three engineering structures.

The investment will be carried out under the “design and build” formula along a section of approximately 11.2 km – from the planned nuclear power plant in the Biebrowo and Słajszewo area to provincial road No. 213.

This means that the contractor will first carry out the design work, obtain a road investment permit (ZRID), and then proceed with the construction work.

Completion of the investment (obtaining a Takeover Certificate) is planned for 2028.
The contract net value amounts to over PLN 177m gross.

The construction of the national road leading to the nuclear power plant is also a significant investment from the perspective of local residents. The new route will increase the capacity of the region's transport system, relieve congestion on the local road network and shorten travel time between the Tricity and seaside villages in the Choczewo commune.

The investment will improve safety and comfort for travellers and will also play a key role during the tourist season by providing an alternative route to the Baltic Sea.

The new road will also improve safety for all users and reduce the negative impact of transport on the environment – including by reducing noise, vibration and emissions. The pavement will be suitable for vehicle traffic with an axle load of 11.5 tonnes.
