Polimex-Mostostal to construct the International Congress Centre in Katowice

Yesterday, i.e. on 03.10.2011, Polimex-Mostostal concluded with the City of Katowice a contract for the construction of the International Congress Centre in Katowice.

Gross contract value: approx. PLN 252.7 million.

Net contract value: approx. PLN 205.4 million.

Construction completion date: 31.05.2013.

The contract covers the construction of a multifunctiona building of the International Congress Centre (MCK) located next to the ‘Spodek’ Sports and Entertainment Arena in Katowice.

The building is a multifunctional complex service building classified as a public utility building. Main functions of the building are related to the following: exhibitions, fairs, entertainment, congresses and conferences. The building has a zone entirely available to the public – it is a green diagonal passage across the roof of the building that at that place takes the shape of a defile, or a valley, and the main lobby connecting the entrance from the side of the honorary yard and the entrance from the side of the Olimpijska Street being designed.

Structural steel – quantities amounting to approx. 3,000 tons
