Polimex-Mostostal signed a contract worth 1.9 billion PLN with Alstom
On August 31, 2012, the Board of Polimex-Mostostal S.A. signed an agreement with Alstom Power under the contract for "Design and delivery of two machine sets with the supervision of erection and start-up" for PGE Elektrownia Opole (Opole Power Station) units 5+6. The remuneration for the execution of the project is 1.9 billion PLN net.
The agreement between the company Polimex - Mostostal and Alstom Power has been concluded in accordance with the principles contained in the contract with PGE Elektrownia Opole S.A. (Opole Power Station) Implementation of the contract will begin after the Notice to Proceed is issued by PGE Elektrownia Opole S.A. (Opole Power Station) as it was established in February this year and according to the provisions of the main contract with the investor.

The contract is being implemented in the EPC formula (Engineering, Procurement and Construction - designing, supply, construction, commissioning and maintenance during the warranty period). Unit No. 5 will be built within 54 months, while unit No. 6 within 62 months from the date of issuing the Notice to Proceed by PGE Elektrownia Opole S.A (Opole Power Station). The contract is executed by a consortium composed of Polimex-Mostostal S.A., Rafako S.A. and Mostostal - Warszawa S.A.
The main scope of work by Polimex-Mostostal includes:
-construction of two turbine sets along with auxiliary equipment
-execution of electrical installations along with measuring and auditing equipment and full automatics.
Polimex - Mostostal is also involved in project work.
- Selecting the machine sets supplier is another important step towards the start of the work on one of the most important investments in the history of the power engineering sector in Poland. Signing, in February this year, an agreement for the construction of two power generation units with a 900 MW each in the Opole Power Station by a consortium of Polimex-Mostostal, is the beginning of the implementation of these investments. The value of the contract amounts to 11.5 billion PLN gross, of which about 42 percent of tasks to be performed belong to our company. Its value is 4.828 billion PLN gross - Zygmunt Artwik, Vice President of Polimex - Mostostal adds.
