Torpol SA together with Astaldi established a new company

- The Agreement signed between the companies TORPOL SA and Astaldi concerns the joint execution of works in the field of tunneling with the use of TBM shield.

A newly established company will be a subcontractor of the consortium Torpol-Astaldi-PBDiM-Intercor of these works and it was created solely for this purpose - Robert Kosmal said, Member of the Supervisory Board of Torpol SA 

- The conclusion of the agreement was subject to compulsory notification for approval by the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection, as in accordance with applicable regulations, entities whose total turnover in the preceding year exceeded EUR 1 billion worldwide and 50 million in Poland are required for such reporting. After the procedure, the President of the Office concluded that the concentration will not significantly reduce competition in the infrastructure construction and civil and water engineering - Robert Kosmal added.

On 18 August 2011 a consortium of companies led by Torpol - a company of Polimex-Mostostal Group - has entered into a contract for the modernization of the Łódź Fabryczna railway station

The Employer are: PKP Polish Railway Lines based in Warsaw, City of Łódź and Polish State Railways SA based in Warsaw.

The contract was signed by a consortium composed of:

• TORPOL Sp. z o.o. – the Leader,

• Astaldi S.p.A. based in Rome,

• Intercor Sp. z o.o. (Technical Services) located in Zawiercie,

• Construction Company Road and Bridge Sp. z o.o. based in Minsk.

The contract is worth 1,430,316,627.41 PLN net (one billion, four hundred and thirty million, three hundred and sixteen thousand, six hundred and twenty-seven PLN 0,41). Torpol participation is 40%.

The scope of the contract includes the modernization of the railway line Warsaw - Lodz, stage II, LOT B2 - section Widzew Łódź - Łódź Fabryczna including the Łódź Fabryczna station, the construction of the underground part of the Fabryczna station destined for departures and arrivals of trains and passenger service, rebuilding the road system and infrastructure around Fabryczna multimodal station – the construction of an integrated interchange hub above and below the Węglowa Street.
