Polimex Mostostal S.A. commissioned a newly built gas and steam unit at the Czechnica 2 CHP Plant in Siechnice

The new gas and steam unit (CCPP), including auxiliary installations, at the Czechnica 2 CHP Plant in Siechnice was commissioned on 21 May 2025.

The contractor of the investment, a consortium which includes Polimex Mostostal S.A. (Consortium Leader) and Polimex Energetyka sp. z o.o. (Consortium Partner) and, on behalf of the Contracting Authority, the Management Board of Zespół Elektrociepłowni Wrocławskich KOGENERACJA S.A.  signed a take-over protocol approving the operation of the gas and steam unit, including auxiliary installations, at the Czechnica 2 CHP Plant in Siechnice. The protocol confirms the successful conclusion of the Trial Run for the unit and delivery of the required documentation by the Contractor, namely by Polimex Mostostal and Polimex Energetyka.

The new unit is a part of the combined power plant unit of Kogeneracja Wrocławska located in Siechnice near Wrocław in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship and owned by ZEW Kogeneracja S.A.

The construction of the unit was carried out under the EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) formula, i.e. it includes the design, supply and turnkey construction of a new EC Czechnica CHP plant based on a gas and steam unit using the configuration of two SGT-800 gas turbines + 2 recovery boilers equipped with afterburning systems, operating collectively with a common SST-600 steam turbine; the total power of the unit is 180MWe and 170MWc. In addition, the project includes the construction of two gas boilers as a Peak Boiler Plant, two gas boilers as a Reserve Boiler Plant with a total capacity of 152MWc and a heat accumulator with a capacity of 13,000 m3.
