Polimex-Mostostal has signed a new contract worth over PLN 1,158 million for the construction of an A1 motorway section.

Today, i.e. on 22 December 2010, the Management Board of Polimex-Mostostal S.A. signed with the Generalna Dyrekcja Dróg Krajowych i Autostrad (General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways) a contract for the construction of the A1 motorway, Stryków – Tuszyn junction along the section from km 295+850 (from Stryków I junction, exclusive of the junction) to km 335+937.65.

 

The construction is to be realised by a consortium of the following companies:

-  Polimex – Mostostal S.A. – Consortium leader,

-  MSF ENGENHARIA S.A., Lisbon (Portugal),

-  MSF Polska Sp. z o.o., Warsaw,

-  DOPRASTAV a. s., Bratislava (Slovakia),

-   Zakład Robót Mostowych ‘MOSTMAR’ Sp. J., Pietrzykowice.

 

Contract value:

gross: PLN 1,158,689,880.68 (one billion one hundred fifty-eight million six hundred eighty-nine thousand eight hundred eighty point six eight Polish zlotys),

net: PLN 949,745,803.84 (nine hundred forty-nine million seven hundred forty-five thousand eight hundred three point eight four Polish zlotys).

 

Polimex-Mostostal participation in the consortium amounts to 25 %.

 

The works are to be executed within 32 months, inclusive of:

–  development of the building design, approval and obtainment of a legally binding decision regarding the building permit and a permit to realise the road investment – 13 months,

–   works execution – 19 months.

Selected information concerning the investments and the scope of works:

 

Section length – 37.287 km.

Cross-section – 2x2 traffic lanes + emergency lane.

Road class – ‘A’ motorway.

Traffic lane width – 3.75 m.

Width of the access zone along the entire motorway section on both sides – 5.00 m.

Emergency lane width – 3.0 m.

Concrete cement pavement wearing course.

4 rest and service areas (‘Skoszewy Zachód’, ‘Skoszewy Wschód’, ‘Wiśniowa Góra Zachód’, ‘Wiśniowa Góra Wschód’ ).

4 motorway junctions (‘Brzeziny’, ‘Andrespol’, ‘Romanów’, ‘Tuszyn’).

Bridge objects – 40, including:

- bridge objects within the motorway – 16;

- bridge objects over the motorway – 18;

- access roads, culverts – 2;

- passages for animals – 4.

Road barriers length – 60.5 km.

Fencing length – 80 km.

Length of protecting and guiding fencing for animals – 47 km.

Acoustic baffles surface area – 185 thousand m2; height – 4.5÷6.0 m.

Waterworks system length – 13.4 km.

Gas supply system length – 4.8 km.

Electrical and telecommunication engineering cables length – 145 km.

 

- Currently, among the activities of the Group, road and railway building engineering, a branch where some significant contracts are being executed, is worth recognition. In this sector, we have assured ourselves work for the years to come, and the revenues from the activity continue to increase successively. At the moment, we are executing sections of the A1, A2 and A4 motorways (two sections) and the S69 expressway. On the other hand, significant contracts in the railway building engineering, for instance modernisation of railway lines nos. E-30, E-59 and E-65 are being executed by Torpol – a Group company, informs Konrad Jaskóła, President of the Management Board of Polimex-Mostostal SA.

 

- Along with the contract regarding the A1 motorway section as well as other contracts to be signed the value of our portfolio of orders will reach the historically highest level of over PLN 10 billion, concludes President Jaskóła.
