PERN has concluded a tender procedure for the construction of the storage tanks for petroleum products at the fuel depots in Emilianów and Małaszewicze. The tender finalization is another milestone in the second stage of the expansion of the Company’s capacities for the storage of oil products. The investment is consistent with the key strategic objectives of PERN by 2022.

There is another project currently in progress as part of the second stage of the storage capacity expansion in PERN, namely the construction of a 32,000 m³ storage tank in Koluszki. Additionally, a new procedure has been launched for the selection of a contractor for the construction of two storage tanks with the accompanying infrastructure at the fuel depot in Dębogórze. Each tank will have a capacity of 32,000 m³. The second stage of expansion will increase the Company’s storage capacities in total by 222,000 m³, which is an increase of approximately 12%.

The scope of work in the project is a complete implementation of three storage tanks: one 32,000 m³ tank at the fuel depot in Małaszewicze and two 10,000 m³ tanks at the fuel depot in Emilianów. The general contractor, the consortium comprising of Naftoremont-Naftobudowa and AGAT, will perform the earthworks, foundation works, complete infrastructure around the tanks, electricity, as well as measurement and control equipment and automatic devices. Within their scope of work, Naftoremont-Naftobudowa will manufacture, deliver and assemble all three tanks with full corrosion and fire protection. The total value of the works executed by the consortium is PLN 107 million, of which PLN 56 million is the share of Naftoremont-Naftobudowa.

The 32,000 m³ storage tank is our hallmark storage product. We are currently constructing such tanks at the fuel depots in Koluszki and Nowa Wieś Wielka, which are in turn duplicates of four already commissioned tanks and five tanks under assembly in Koluszki. The 10,000 m³ storage tanks are smaller capacity tanks assembled using the traditional method by the experienced assembly teams from Naftoremont-Naftobudowa.

The expansion of the fuel storage capacity is one of PERN’s mega-investments resulting from the policy of the Polish government on the logistical infrastructure in the oil sector, which was adopted by the Council of Ministers and which is reflected in the strategy of PERN until 2022. Naftoremont-Naftobudowa has unmatched competences in this area.

The deadline for the implementation of the storage tanks is 14 months (60 weeks) from the day of the signature of the agreement until the full filling of the tanks.

This particular investment will expand PERN's strategic storage capacities by 52,000 m³.
