Kozienice: Boiler house steel structure completed

Polimex-Mostostal completed before time installation of boiler house steel structure of built power unit in Kozienice Power Plant. On the boiler house there was hanged a topping-out wreath.

“We already started building this house,” explains Jan Stadnik, Director of Construction of Polimex-Mostostal. “The boiler house, as well as the adjacent engine house building, we enclose with panels in RAL 9006 colour – which corresponds visually to the dark silver facade. Panels on both sides are covered with a smooth sheet of anti-corrosiveness class C4. They are filled with mineral wool with a thickness of 150 millimetres. The boiling house envelope, aprox. 24 thousand square metres, we will finish by the end of October this year.

Installation of boiler steel structure began on 23 June 2014. For its structure 11 thousand tons of steel were used, most of the structure comes from Polish manufacturers. Polimex-Mostostal installed technological channels parallel to the installation of the boiler house, whose weight exceeds 4 thousand tons.

Next to the boiler house building there is the engine house building, which was already enclosed by panels. 12 thousand square meter panels were used.

“The engine and boiler houses envelope is an important step in preparing for the pressure test of boiler technological installation. It will be held in February next year. During the pressure test in the buildings there must be ensured the right temperature. The enclosure associated with thermal sealing of these facilities is a prerequisite to carry it out,” explains Jan Stadnik.

On August 8 the transformer block of 206 tons reached the construction block of the 11th power plant in Kozienice. This is the first of seven block and tap transformers, whose supply and installation Polimex-Mostostal will complete by mid-September this year. Transportation from the manufacturer from Łódź to Kozienice is carried out by a special set of railroad. For this purpose, the railway line was performed on the construction site on which the items are transported.
