The "Big 6" sign strategic cooperation agreement on nuclear projects

On 4 March 2026, during the 'Atomic Opportunities' conference organised by Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe, six Polish companies signed a strategic agreement to cooperate, exchange knowledge and experience, share resources, jointly build research teams, innovative projects and technological and business consulting.

Mostostal Kraków S.A. (represented by Board Members - Paweł Śmigla and Kacper Jaskot), Mostostal Kielce S.A. (represented by Krzysztof Rusiecki - President of the Management Board), Mostostal Siedlce Sp. z o.o. (represented by Tomasz Borzęcki - Vice-President of the Management Board), Energomontaż-Północ Gdynia S.A. (represented by Tomasz Szymczak - Vice-President of the Management Board of the Baltic Industrial Group), FAMAK S.A. (represented by Leszek Zagórski - President of the Management Board and Marek Boroń - Commercial Director, Proxy), WELDED STRUCTURES PLANT FERRUM S.A. (represented by Krzysztof Kasprzycki - President of the Management Board) have for several years been involved in the process of building key competencies and developing teams responsible for participation in the nuclear power supply chain and have been cooperating with Westinghouse Electric Poland in this regard. The signed document is the result of building a strong position for Polish companies and a partnership that will allow them to act more effectively on future nuclear projects. The aim of the cooperation was to exchange key experience during the implementation of nuclear programmes in individual companies and to streamline logistics and procurement processes, and consequently to maximise the participation of Polish companies in the construction of not only the first Polish nuclear power plant, but also projects in Europe. The exchange of experiences and data on safety, nuclear culture, security and quality assurance will significantly increase operational efficiency and benefit the global safety culture. As the companies signing the agreement emphasise - these measures will allow Polish companies to increase their competitiveness by lowering the costs of carrying out the work and optimising resources, etc. Ultimately, the actions above could translate into optimising the milestones set in the nuclear power plant construction schedule.

The process of qualifying suppliers according to the American standard NQA-1 is very demanding, requiring time, resources and solid preparation.  The signed contract will allow the teams responsible for nuclear projects in each company to share tips and experiences and jointly seek the best solutions. The signed contract demonstrates that, in the case of such important projects, local Polish companies are able to work together at the highest level, consistently pursuing a common and overarching goal, which is to participate as much as possible in the construction of the "Lubiatowo-Kopalino" power plant. From the perspective of Poland's energy and strategic security, this is a key action that will translate into the acquisition of new know-how, the development of the necessary skills on the market, the development of the aforementioned enterprises and the creation of new jobs.

The companies selected to support the construction of the "Lubiatowo-Kopalino" power station, obliges them to act thoughtfully and form partnerships in this challenging and ambitious project, which is the only one of its kind in Poland, and this agreement is a manifestation of this.

Further plans are to continue the cooperation between the Companies and the Investor of the Pomeranian nuclear project in the development of human resources competencies in the nuclear sector through the development of industry and engineering education, which will build a strong, qualified and practically prepared team of nuclear specialists.
