Agreement for the extension of Gdańsk Oil Terminal between Naftoremont-Naftobudowa and PERN
Five brand new oil storage tanks for the Gdańsk Oil Terminal and almost 400,000 m³ of additional storage capacity – this is the plan for the expansion of PERN warehousing infrastructure to be completed by the second half of 2020. The Consortium headed by Naftoremont-Naftobudowa, formed together with its partner Agat, has concluded an agreement with PERN for the implementation of this project. In the tender procedure the Consortium has proposed the most advantageous offer in the amount of PLN 327 mln.
The new tanks, which will be located on the coast of the Baltic Sea, will enable PERN to increase its efficiency in servicing oil tankers that arrive in Naftoport. The agreed-upon deadline for the investment has been set at the end of September/beginning of October 2020, which is 21 months from the date of the signature of the agreement.
- This is another investment initiative of PERN in the area of raw materials. Currently there is also a project in progress at the Gdańsk terminal for the construction of two oil storage tanks with the capacity of 100,000 m³ each. The expected completion date of this project is April 2020 – announced Igor Wasilewski, the President of PERN.
The supply of crude oil to Poland has been increasingly diversified. This means that more oil arrives in Poland by the sea. PERN is dedicated to providing safe and flexible transportation service of oil to the refineries while preserving the quality of the material, depending on the oil type.
- The expansion of PERN warehousing infrastructure at the Gdańsk Oil Terminal is another key project in the area of oil, gas and chemicals implemented by Naftoremont-Naftobudowa. The company is an entity of Polimex Mostostal Capital Group, which is currently the largest construction enterprise in the country. We have the expertise and the resources for such large-scale projects – said Krzysztof Figat, the President of Polimex-Mostostal.
- The major challenge in this project is not related to organizational or technical aspects of it, but to the ambitious timeframe for its realization. Naftoremont-Naftobudowa has had several decades of market presence and our highly specialized resources have solid experience in the execution of this kind of investments. I am convinced that through efficient project management, good use of our resources and with the cooperation of the Capital Group, the project will prove to be a success – added Mirosław Miśkiewicz, the President of Naftoremont-Naftobudowa.
The Gdańsk Oil Terminal has six warehouses with the total storage capacity of 375,000 m³. PERN is currently planning to further add three oil tanks with the capacity of 100,000 m³ each and two tanks with the capacity of 45,000 m³ each.
